Founded in 1967, Utenos Trikotažas is the largest and one of the most modern knitwear production companies in Central and Eastern Europe. At their main branch in Lithuania, they offer a full production cycle under one roof – from yarn to ready-made garments.
Environmental and social responsibility are also a huge part of their identity, seen in organically farmed natural fibres, the use of chemicals in production, fair pay for employees and absolute transparency in the production processes. Not to mention, the global environmental organisation Greenpeace has recognised Utenos as the first textile company in the world to follow their textiles procurement standard entirely. This standard embodies all existing best practices in terms of zero use of toxic chemicals, fairness and transparency. Greenpeace also tests the factory each year to ensure that the standards are maintained.
