AREAS OF USE
As always, it's important to us that the clothes we create can be used for everything you do. This is crucial for a design to even be considered in the idea phase. Another word for what we strive for is "classics" — that they never go out of style, stand the test of time, and are just as relevant today as they will be in 10, 20, or even 50 years. A plaid shirt is that kind of garment. Wear it to a rock concert, use it in important business meetings, throw it on when you're relaxing on the couch, or wear it on a chilly autumn day when you're tidying up the garden.

DETAILS
At first glance, the shirt may appear "ordinary." That's a good thing because it helps the design survive trends or other obstacles that can make it outdated. But upon closer inspection and with good use, you'll discover some small details worth mentioning. The chest pocket has a hidden opening for glasses, or maybe it's for a small bouquet of flowers? A solid seam at the edge of the pocket allows you to slide in the arm of your glasses so they hang more securely in the pocket and don’t fall out. Life-saving? Nope. Handy? We think so.

COROZO BUTTONS
The buttons on the shirt are made of a material called corozo — a 100% natural material, which is the seed of tagua nuts. Here are some other points worth knowing:

NATURAL HARVESTING: The seeds are harvested naturally after the nuts have fallen from the tree.

DURABILITY: The fibers offer outstanding resistance to scratches and have impressive durability.

LOCAL ECONOMY: The tagua industry may not be the largest in the region, but it is still the main source of income for over 30,000 local farmers in Ecuador.

RENEWABLE RESOURCE: No trees are cut down. Once mature, a tagua tree can produce up to 25 kilos of nuts for over 100 years.

NATURAL: Corozo is 100% biodegradable. A fantastic alternative to the plastic buttons commonly used.

PROTECTING THE RAINFOREST: Corozo production generates up to five times more income than banana or cattle farming. While these industries contribute to deforestation, Corozo is produced in balance with the local environment.

LONGEVITY AND REINFORCEMENTS
We always design our clothing to be used frequently over a long, long time. Part of the solution is using durable materials, but often that’s not enough. That’s why we equip most of our garments with extra reinforcements in high-wear areas. This plaid shirt is no exception, and you will therefore notice the familiar binding around the cuffs, as well as extra material to protect the elbows. The reinforcements are in the same pattern as the rest of the shirt for a discreet appearance and are designed so you can easily replace them if they become worn out.
