The Worn Once Dress

Choose color: Multi

The Worn Once Dress is a symbol of overconsumption and was created to challenge the country’s biggest influencers. The dress is made from garments that Norway’s most well-known influencers have only worn once—a phenomenon that has become a mark of quality in the second-hand market, but also exposes the fashion industry’s biggest problem: the extreme overconsumption of clothing.

The goal is to highlight how absurd it is that we wear our clothes so little and to encourage both influencers and consumers to reflect on their consumption habits.

Borrow the dress for free for an event you’re attending—a birthday party, an award ceremony, dinner with the in-laws, or simply to wear at the office! We guarantee attention and a meaningful conversation about overconsumption.

    MATERIAL(S)
The Worn Once Dress is made from 20 different garments sourced from Norway’s biggest influencers. Fashion designer Siri Øverland Eriksen designed the dress so that it can be taken apart, allowing the garments to be used as 20 individual pieces. The dress consists of clothing made from various materials, including silk, polyester, viscose, and leather—all worn only once before being resold on the second-hand market.

    Composition of the dress:
    10% Vita, 9% Hanne-Lene, 9% Hedda, 8% Wanda, 8% Aurora, 8% Caroline B, 8% Sunniva, 7% Kim, 7% Madeleine, 6% Marti, 6% Caroline G, 6% Sophie, 3% Ingeborg, 3% Maria, 2% Runa

Weight of the dress: 10 kg

    AREAS OF USE
We consider The Worn Once Dress to be a gala dress, but we see no reason why it can't be worn for entirely different occasions. Wear it to birthday parties, weddings, confirmations, or other ceremonies. And why not wear it to the office or a nice dinner with good friends and family?

The most important thing is to start the conversation about overconsumption—and for all of us to stop reselling clothes after just one use.

    RESPONSIBLE USE
The Worn Once Dress is available for free rental, but we require that it is returned in good condition. Makeup stains, tears, and other "small" damages must be fixed before returning the dress. We are happy to assist if you don’t have the skills to repair it, but makeup and other stains should be cleaned at home before we receive the dress back.

    PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The dress is designed to fit as many body shapes as possible, as the skirt can be adjusted in width. However, this doesn’t always go as planned. That’s why we recommend visiting our store to try on the dress before borrowing it—so you don’t end up at a wedding with a dress that’s too big or too small.

The Worn Once Dress must be picked up and returned to our store in Grünerløkka, Oslo, at the agreed time. Several people are on the waiting list to borrow the dress, and it is essential that everyone sticks to their scheduled appointment.

Unfortunately, we are unable to ship The Worn Once Dress by mail.
