DETAILS
- Material. The Jack Shirt is made with 95% wool (mix of virgin and recycled wool) and 5% cashmere. The wool comes from Australia and is mulesing-free. The material is brushed to give it a soft fleece texture. In other words, this jacket will keep you warm when wet, won't smell and is made with natural materials.
- Reinforcements. The reinforcement is made with polyester to protect the most exposed areas, and is easy to switch out if necessary. Polyester takes longer to wear out than wool and will help you keep this jacket for as long as possible.
- Fit. The Jack Shirt has the cut of a jacket and a loose, casual fit.
- Pockets. There are large chest pockets with buttons and large side pockets with zippers. On the top of the left chest pocket there is a hidden pocket to hang your sunglasses. On the inside of the chest is a zipper pocket for important items like a phone or map.
- Buttons. We have chosen sturdy buttons that won't break after quickly. Included is an extra button on the inside of the jacket if one should disappear. There is also an extra button above the cuff thanks to feedback from our customers, giving you the opportunity to make the opening above the cuff smaller and close out cold air.
BACKGROUND
When we first started playing around with the idea of making a mid-layer, we had a plethora of styles and functions to choose between. With our design philosophy in mind, we wanted to develop a garment that was both functional and looked good in the mountains or the city, and that could be worn in any season.
Like our other products, you can go straight from a hike to dinner with your in-laws in the Jack Shirt. Thanks to the wool you won't smell, and thanks to the design you will be ready for any occasion.
THE PROCESS
We received the first prototype in fall of 2020. Since then, we have designed and developed the Jack Shirt with our Community. After five prototypes and one test round we have landed on a design we are very pleased with. The final product is based on internal ideas and competence, as well as feedback from testers and the Community. The most significant changes from the last version are based on the following feedback:
1. Male and female models. Previously The Jack Shirt was a unisex product. With time, we realised that unisex products didn't work as well on everyone. By creating one version for men and one version for women, we can offer an even better fit, (hopefully) making you want to own and wear the product even longer.
2. Longer back. 7 Community members, like Line and Monica, wanted the back of the jacket to be longer than the front.
3. Slanted pockets. In the last version, the side pockets were hidden in the side seams. This looked good, but made the pockets slightly more difficult to use. Now we landed on a good combination between classic design and functionality, making the pockets both practical and good looking.
P.S. The name also came from our customers. Inspired by Community member Tamara, Jack Shirt is the perfect combination of jacket and shirt (and jack shit 😉).

Our store is not your typical shop. Sure, we sell clothes and make money from it, but can we do everything the opposite of what typical clothing stores do? Our goal is just as much about opening minds and showing that it's possible to do things in a completely different way, with a totally different footprint.
