MATERIALS
Fun Fact: Camel hair falls off naturally, so there’s no need to shear them. People can simply pick up the hairs from the ground. That’s pretty cool and, of course, completely harmless to the camel.
Camel hair, like other wool, has excellent insulating properties and moisture-wicking abilities. It’s also known for performing well in both heat and cold (just think about the temperature swings in the desert where camels live).
When camel wool is blended with cotton, we get a soft, strong, and insulating fabric. Not to mention, the camel hairs are undyed and highly visible, adding a unique character.
